Stunt & Fight Director

Established as one of the UK’s top stage stunt/fight directors and acrobatic coordinators, Karl has directed fight/action sequences for numerous stage shows including Sir Peter Hall’s Falstaffat Glyndebourne, Graham Vick’s Mastersingersof Nuremberg for The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and the English National Opera.  

Karl was the assistant choreographer for Tom Stoppard’s Jumpersat the Royal National and Piccadilly Theatres directed by David Leveaux.  In 2009/10 Karl directed the fight scenes for the West End and Irish touring productions of The Shawshank Redemption.  

Other credits include Happy Days,UK tour; MacbethUK tour; Peter Pan the MusicalUK tour and in 2011 Karl directed the sword fights for the West End production of The Flying Karamazov Brothersand for Disney he coordinated and directed a sword fighting Flash Mob in central London for the DVD release of The Pirates of the Caribbean 4.  


Karl has set the fight and action sequences for over 200 major theatre productions throughout the UK and Ireland and numerous productions for Celebrity Cruise Lines.  He also coordinated five of the BBC’s Children’s Royal VarietyPerformancesat the Dominion Theatre and the London Palladium.   Karl is also recognised as one of the world’s leading live action stunt show directors working with companies such as Marvel and DC Comics directing shows in the UK, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.  In 2014 Karl directed a slapstick scene in the West End production of the Importance of Being Earnest at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Karl produced, wrote and directed the award winning extreme sports show JUMP! for Phantasialand in Germany.  


Karl is also a member of the internationally renowned British Stunt Register
